WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MILD AND CORTEN STEEL?
The main difference between corten steel and mild steel is the amount of carbon in each material. Corten steel has a higher carbon content than mild steel. This makes corten steel more durable and corrosion-resistant than its mild counterpart. Additionally, corten steel is more resistant to extreme temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor applications where the temperature fluctuates throughout the year.
Mild steel has a lower carbon content than corten, which makes it softer and more malleable. Its low carbon content also makes it less resistant to corrosion than corten.
HOW DO I CARE FOR AND MAINTAIN STEEL SCULPTURE?
Corten and Mild Steel age and colour naturally. There is no maintenance required – simply enjoy the piece as it changes and evolves.
DO YOU DO COMMISSIONS?
Yes. Since each piece is a reflection of your vision. We simply start with a conversation about the scope of your project, and develop a plan based on location, scale, size, material, budget etc.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY SCULPTURE and/or PROPOSAL?
10% of initial estimate refundable if project moves into contract. 30% deposit after agreement of project for material, supplies and cuts. Balance is due prior to delivery and or install.
CAN YOU DELIVER TO MY HOME OR SITE?
Yes, delivery and installation at an additional cost, depending on location, size and weight
DO YOU INSTALL THE SCULPTURES? HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?
Yes, I can install the sculptures if needed. Every install is different so the price varies.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE A SCULPTURE?
Sculptures generally take between 1.5weeks and 6weeks of fabrication, this doesn’t include sketching or maquette making of the sculpture.
